These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Inventra application ("App," "we," "our," or "us"), a Shopify app developed by Symanity. By installing or using Inventra, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App immediately.
Inventra is a Shopify Admin embedded app that provides structured, session-based inventory stock-taking. The App enables Shopify merchants to:
All data is stored entirely within your Shopify store using Shopify metafields, inventory levels, and product tags. Inventra does not operate any external database.
To use Inventra, you must:
Inventra uses Shopify's built-in OAuth 2.0 authentication. We do not create separate accounts or manage login credentials. Access to the App is controlled entirely through your Shopify Admin permissions.
By installing Inventra, you grant the App the following Shopify API scopes:
You are responsible for managing which staff members have access to the App through Shopify's built-in staff permissions. All actions taken by staff through Inventra are your responsibility.
Inventra treats your Shopify inventory as the single, authoritative source of truth. The App does not maintain a separate copy of your data. All workflow state is stored in Shopify metafields (JSON), and all inventory quantities are managed through Shopify's inventory system.
Inventra operates on a session-based stock-take model:
1. Snapshot: Captures a baseline of your current Shopify inventory into metafields
2. Count: Staff members record physical counts for each location
3. Finalize: Locks in results once every variant has been counted, and tags products by location
4. Release: Resets the session to prepare for the next stock-take
Inventra writes the following data to your Shopify store:
Upon uninstallation, Shopify automatically removes app-specific metafields. Product tags created by Inventra may persist and can be manually removed through Shopify Admin if desired.
You agree to use Inventra only for its intended purpose of inventory management and stock-taking. You may not:
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Inventra application — including its code, design, documentation, and branding — are owned by Symanity. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App.
Your inventory data remains yours. We claim no ownership over the data stored in your Shopify store.
We strive to keep Inventra available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App depends on Shopify's platform and APIs, which are outside our control.
We may update the App from time to time to improve functionality, fix bugs, or comply with Shopify's requirements. Updates are deployed through Shopify's app infrastructure.

Inventra is a tool to assist with stock-taking. You are ultimately responsible for verifying the accuracy of your inventory data. We are not liable for discrepancies between physical stock and recorded quantities.
Because all data is stored within Shopify's infrastructure, we are not responsible for data loss or corruption caused by Shopify platform issues, third-party apps modifying the same metafields, or manual edits to metafield data outside of Inventra.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Symanity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Symanity and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
You may stop using Inventra at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Data stored in Shopify metafields is handled according to Shopify's data retention policies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the email associated with your Shopify store. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Australia.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Symanity regarding your use of Inventra.
